We had this 2020 Intech, all aluminum, 22' stacker trailer custom built. I primarily went with Intech as they offered 3-axles with this trailer length with extended axle spacing. Our nearest dealer was also an ATC dealer and comparing the two made for an easy selection.
The trailer has a 24" V-nose that houses the upper and lower interior cabinets.
The four side cabinets, over the PS fender well are 10-1/2' long by 5-1/2' high by 8" deep. I have one large and one small cabinet configured to hang jackets in. Over a dozen shelves were provided to use in any of the cabinets.
Two 31" x 31" x 12" floor compartments house the spare tire and miscellaneous storage respectively.
The lift is 78" wide by 14' long with a capacity of 4,000lb. It is hydraulically raised with multiple positive-action retaining lugs spaced at about 6" in height to lock the lift into that particular position. So, the lift is held by mechanical, welded-on lugs on each of the four lifting columns in the desired height, not by the hydraulics.
The hydraulics are powered by a 12V motor/pump from two large batteries. An external 120V plug allows the trailer to be connected to land power and maintains the battery charge when parked. An inverter is located in the lower front cabinets to supply 120V to the inside receptacles over the lower cabinet bench.
A storage platform, referred to as an ‘attic’ is above the front cabinets. It is 49" x 97-1/2" plus the V-nose area and will support up to 2,500lb.
The outside skin is 0.050", an upgrade from the standard 0.040". Polished stainless steel adorns the front nose curve and surrounding lower skirt and rear valances.
The rear ramp door was increased in length from the standard 7' length to 9'. This added length reduces the break-over angle so loading low clearance vehicles is not an issue. A 5' lead-in ramp supplements the ramp door. Even though this very heavy ramp door is assisted by a garage door-type spring, there is about a 40-50lb initial lifting force required to raise it. So, I installed a winch on one of the lift columns to raise/lower the door for its full travel.
The passenger-side walk door is also a loading ramp, intended for motorcycle loading. It can be used in either configuration. It is spring assisted in raise/lowering and can be moved with one hand.
A standard walk door is opposite on the driver's-side. Both doors have retracting entry steps.
The Escape door is 7' long and allows one to get in/out of the vehicle being loaded by being able to open the car door.
Unfortunately, the fender wells were too high for the door of my 911 to be opened. So, I had to purchase the race ramps shown. These raise the car 4" and allow the door to be opened. These ramps have a storage location against the inside walls of the trailer. The construction of the ramps is very light weight material and they are easily handled.
Without the motorcycle, the additional space allows a total vehicle length of 234". With a motorbike in place, I would say about 185" would be the maximum for any car.
Airline-type track is located on either side of the main floor and the lift platform. Tie down rings can be positioned anywhere along these tracks. This track is also provided on both sides, in the front and above the attic floor.
Wheel chocks are located at the front of the lift, but their track width could be easily changed. We hauled a Can Am Spyder Trike here. A golf cart would be an easy carry.
Two short diamond-plate ramps are provided to gain access to the lift in its lowered position.
Three Dexter, torsion-tube axles rated at 6,000lb each provide a smooth ride. We’ve never had any sway from the trailer even in stiff side winds. The tires are Goodyear load range G installed last year.
All interior and exterior lights are LED.
The tongue jack is a hydraulic cylinder with a lockable key switch.
The foldable 5' ladder allows access to the lift when the lower vehicle is in place.
A digital voltage meter in the upper cabinets records real-time battery voltage.
Additional specs on request.
Intech's attention to detail is just not even approachable by any other trailer manufacturer. Even the door hinges have zerk fittings!! This trailer is made for generations of use.
Talking with the dealership I bought this trailer from, they said I should get my purchase price for it, as new ones have a delivery time of 8-10 months and new would be near $85,000.
All documentation is included with the original sales invoice for $65,000.
Included with the trailer are the Race Ramps, Winch, Ladder, Tire Covers, Safety Cones, Shown Tie-Down Straps, Track tie-down Rings, and Spare Tire. Not included are the 911, Motorcycle nor Jackets.
We're pushing 80 real hard now, so it's time to downsize and let someone else enjoy it.
