1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ
183k miles
I have a full record of receipts for all purchases, installations, and custom frame off paint job (LineX)
Comes WITH HARDTOP (no back window) and TWO FULL DOORS
I purchased this truck in 2011 and have completely customized upgraded everything possible. From marine speakers, console subwoofer, marine amp, Corbeau Moab driver and passenger seats - to the train horn with hidden compressor and tank - to the aluminum radiator, stainless steel brake lines, disc brakes, new exhaust, and more!
See below for list of add-on/upgrades/performance parts
Frame off - custom LINEX paint job (see pictures of separate spraying for tub and individual parts)
This Jeep has been a project of mine. I have detailed records of 90% of all work done, parts purchased, and installations performed by professionals. In 2011 it had 167,847 miles on it about when I purchased it from my brother (who had purchased from his close friend). Because of this I have service records going back through the 2 previous owners. Only about 15k miles over the next 12 years mostly in the first 6 years I had it. Since I started rebuilding and upgrading around 2017 it has been garage kept and never seen the rain unless I got caught driving in the rain with the top off.
The wipers are the only thing that I am aware of that does not work and I can only assume the wiper motor is bad. The wiper motor had been replaced in 2009 for the same reason. With historic plates on it and I leave the hard top hanging in the garage, bad weather has not really been a concern of mine, otherwise I would have fixed the wipers.
Every summer I do an oil change regardless of the milage. It does not burn or leak oil.
When it’s parked for more than 24hrs it goes on the trickle charger.
In 2014, with 179,432 miles, the following was done (professional mechanic - I have the invoices):
-Clutch replaced - plus flywheel cut and shifter bushing
-New aluminum radiator installed with upper and lower hose replacement
-New plastic fuel tank with new fuel pump installed
In 2016, with 180,906 miles the following was done (by the mechanic):
-Complete rear brake conversion from drum to disk
-Front pads and rotors
-New handbrake (emergency brake) cable
-Installed stainless steel brake lines
In 2017 I really started in on it - I began the LineX process which included a frame of restoration type paint job. Anything that needed to be fix was fixed, upgrades were installed, installed lift, and replaced rear coil springs. The take apart and put back together after the tub and parts were sprayed with LineX was done by DeCozen in Verona, NJ. I have the receipts total just over 7k for parts and labor. That does NOT include the cost of LineX. The back seat was taken out and replaced with a slide-out drawer that locks to keep things safe and dry when traveling. DeCozen also did the lift, rear coil replacements, and supplied parts.
-Never been in an accident
-Interior is in good shape maybe 7/10. No burns, stains, rips, etc. The floor is LineX and the seats were new when the paint job was done about 5-6 years ago. Seats are faded but no rips or burns. Never smoked anywhere near this thing. The interior used to be tan. I replaced what I could with gray and black from jeeps I found around or on the internet. I coated anything I couldn't find with a rubberized paint that has help up and has a soft to the touch feel.
-Wiper motor needs to be replaced. Speedometer works but shows about 5% higher than actual speed. Assuming this is because of the lift, oversized tires, and not messing with the computer or touching the electric. I kept all modifications mechanical and cosmetic (not counting LED lights as electric)
-Does not burn or leak any oil and does not run rich
-Transmission work was done as stated above
-No mechanical problems
-Clutch operates as it should
-No fluid leaks
-Brakes are pretty much new (under 10k miles)
-No death wobble or any wobble for that matter - tires are a bit loud but it runs straight and even
-I tried to list all accessories in the original post - not sure if I missed anything. Not sure I included the description of the box for the back that slides out as a drawer and possibly forgot the high lift jack - have em both and they are certainly included. I have the wall hangers for the doors if you want em.
